When I received the anonymous letters I was delighted. What fun I had reading and rereading them. It is so typical of liberals to react with such ridiculous hypocrisy and hyperbole.
I fly this simple, insignificant little flag and they go nuts. Do they not read the newspapers and magazines, view the broadcast news, watch television programs and go to movies? Those mediums provide them with their liberal points of view irrespective of the facts and truth while at the same time belittling my views. They have it all their way yet they can’t handle my miniscule protest.
Former President Bush has been treated with disrespect in all of the aforementioned mediums. At Obama’s inauguration ceremony he was serenaded with the song that goes, “naa-naa-naa-naa, naa-naa-naa-naa, hey, hey, hey goodbye”. Nice. There have been books written on how to assassinate President Bush and the latest movie from Oliver Stone, W, is as low as it gets. Hold that, Michael Moore movies win that honor.
At the inauguration ceremony Reverend Joseph Lowery gave the benediction and he said the following which I have paraphrased, “Black no longer must sit in the back, brown can stick around, yellow can be mellow, the red man can get ahead man and white must embrace what is right.” The only race that received a jab from Reverend Lowery was the white race. White must embrace what is right… Umm. I think we have been for many years now. Once again, this is the Democrat party where they see people through the prism of identity politics. They create their victim groups in order to facilitate their socialist agendas. Is this change we can believe in?
In one of the letters it was stated that while they did not care for President Bush they nonetheless backed him because they were good Americans and they do what is right. Is that so? I imagine their support for President Bush was passive at best. They did not have to take any overt action to voice their opposing opinions like I had to do with the 'NObama' flag. They had Hollywood along with the print and broadcast media to carry their dirty water thus allowing them to wear the false mantle of supportive, yet respectful disagreement. How convenient for them.
Like their Democrat representatives the writer of this letter was in essence saying he/she supported the president but not his policies. As I pointed out earlier, that is impossible when you disagreed with everything President Bush was doing. I don’t care if you did not support President Bush and his policies but for one exception. When America was attacked on 9/11 we all needed to back our President (and by extension our military since Bush was the Commander in Chief) but your Democrat politicians have sure as hell not done that. So save your patronizing words for one of your many ‘victim groups’.
It was suggested in one of the letters that I should leave the country if I am so angry and upset. To the contrary, I am happy by nature and my life is very satisfying. My disagreements with liberals is by no means negatively impacting my happiness – it only enhances it. Your reactions to my flag have been entertaining but lacking intellectual honesty. Complaints to the City of Overland Park, anonymous letters and the theft of my original 'NObama' flag informs me of the kind of people you are. You are unworthy of my respect and I have absolutely no desire to try to change your mind on what course is best for America.
The fourth anonymous letter was delivered to my house in an unusual way. It was inside a Ziploc bag along with a rock and tossed into my front yard. If Obama continues to have his way with our economy this delivery method will be considered the 'premium' mail service of the future.
You won the election. Enjoy it and ignore my flag. Go home and turn on your flat screen. You’ll get your world-view revalidated. Don’t let my flag shake your confidence. Chris Matthews, the host of the program Hardball once expressed his feelings for Obama when he said, “I get a thrill running up my leg”. That pretty much sums it up for you doesn’t it… Obama is the messiah and can do no wrong.
Now, back to the suggestion that I leave the country. I will do so if Alec Baldwin finally makes good on his promise to leave the country if Bush won the presidency.
